A week later...

Well, it's been a week since I started work. Not a big deal getting back into waking up every morning at a certain time. Woke up with my husband every morning to take him to work in order to save gas, since his car really like to burn it. I really like the people I work with, but the job itself is pretty boring. To say the least! Staring at a computer screen, literally, all day long. It is a lot more boring and redundant than you may think. There are a lot of different things you have to keep an eye out for when you are scanning the documents, so you can't just look away from the screen whenever you want. You have to keep an eye on everything that is going on. It begins to be a real strain on your eyes, when the day is coming to an end. Well, that's my rant for the moment. It's paying the bills and giving my some free money so I can actually live without having to ask my husband for gas money all the time. I hate that. It's like asking for an allowance from your parents. Ugh! Anyway, the job's boring, but I still enjoy it; mostly for the people I work with. They are great people.

Here: The job hunt ends!!!

I got a new job at www.scarabimaging.com . Of course, it's at one of the offices, but that's the business. I am really looking forward to working there. I will be looking at legal documents and scanning them through the computer and entering data on them. Sounds much more boring than I think it's going to be. But starting salary is $8 an hour and I start on Monday! Woo hoo! I cannot wait.

The job hunt continues

I went back to O'Reilly's to check on the application and resume that I had turned in on the 10th of October. Steve, the manager, said to check back in on Tuesday because he didn't know anything new at the moment. Good news is that he sent it into his District Manager, so every O'Reilly's in the area has my application and resume now. So, that's good. Bad news is that I still don't have a job. I was looking through the paper yesterday evening and found a job at an animal rehabilitation center. I guess that's what you would call it. Where you take care of sick animals, at any rate. I would love to work there! I was going to go turn in my application and resume, but I forgot my resume because I was in such a big hurry ot get out the door so that I could make it to a doctor's appointment on time. The appointment ended up taking all the rest of the day, so I am going to try and get that turned in tomorrow. Although, I have two more appointments tomorrow also. Need to get that application in, though, before the position gets filled without me!

Just happened to come across this website that I found to be quite unique. But, first, a bit of history on how I could have possibly came across this site: When I was in the Army, I was a Medical Lab Tech (MLT). A lot of people don't really know what my career consists of. In short, anything thing that can come off of, or out of, your body; I examine in some way or another. Blood, urine, feces, semen, body fluids, you name it, I've studied it. We also specialize in Microbiology. One of my favorite fields in the MLT profession. Now, dealing with Microbiology, you get to grow things on plates and then see what grew during the night. So many different bugs that I'm not even going to get started on. That being said, here is the site:
www.giantmicrobes.com
It really is quite interesting even for someone who isn't versed in the technological side of it. I kind of like it, actually. Each microbe comes with it's own little card that says what it is and how you can get it, if I am not mistaken. Cute and funny.

DRAG RACING!!

So, I was looking through this site and found this guys blog and thought that it was rather interesting and entertaining. I thought I would share it here:
http://janascii.blogspot.com/

The other night my husband, Dane, a few of our friends (Gil, Gil's friend, and Todd), and I all went to the drag races. It was the last points race before the big Night of Fire race that is going on this Saturday. You can rest assured that, yes, we will be going! There will be jet-powered drag cars there that will make you feel like your chest is going to cave in when they go by because they are so loud! It is so exhilarating to be there and feel it! Completely makes my day, really. Anyway, back to what I was previously saying, we went to the drag races this past Saturday. Two of my favorite cars were there from when we went last year; the Opal GT and the Corvette Stingray. I was happy to see them racing again. There was also a Vega there that took off the line so hard that he was almost vertical! Of course, when he came back down, he bounced back up to a normal wheelie height. That was the highlight of the night! He let off the gas soon after his car stopped bouncing. I think if it had been me, I would have let off the gas much sooner, but then I would have crapped my pants by then! It was a lot of fun and for anyone who loves racing or just cars in general can understand my enthusiasm.

03 Oct 2005

Well, today starts off my search to get a job. My goal is to get one by the end of this week, no matter how unsatisfactory of a job I may find that will hire me. Not that I am not worthy of a job, I am currently unable to find one in the field I wish to persue. Although, as I have found previously, I may begin to enjoy which ever job I happen to land. I had gotten a job at Godfather's Pizza that I felt for sure that I would hate, only to find out that I loved the people I worked with and began to love my job in turn. I am hoping this happens to be true with the next job I get. Until then, I hope to bring more updates on my job hunting.
